2015 Annual Founders’ Fundraiser

November 14, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$125

Thank you to all the sponsors and to all the attendees at this year’s Founders’ Fundraiser. This year, the Center honored Philadelphia area Fellows designated by the American Craft Council (ACC) with an exhibition at the Center. Each of the artists work in wood and have distinctive careers that span 25 years or more. Click here to view the program book.

Honorees included: Sharon Church, jeweler; David Ellsworth, wood turner; Michael Hurwitz, furniture maker; Bruce Metcalf, jeweler; and the late George Nakashima, furniture maker. Helen Williams Drutt English, one of the world’s most influential gallerist and craft icons as well as an Honorary ACC Fellow, served as this year’s keynote speaker at the Fundraiser. See video below for excerpts from her speech as well as interviews with artists and attendees. Click here for more information about the exhibition on display during the event, or to view art work for sale from the exhibition.

The Center has received a new three year, $600,000 challenge grant from the Windgate Charitable Foundation. This means, when you renew your gift to the Center at the same level as last year, Windgate will double your gift with a 1-to-1 match. However, for every new or upgraded amount given to the Center this year, Windgate will triple your gift with a 2-to-1 match. Make your annual gift go the extra mile, and consider upgrading today!
